With 314 Ashland Town residents voting in the July 26th Special Election, the question has passed 253-61 and has gone into affect so that Ashland Police candidates under the rank of Chief, won’t need to take the Civil Service exam.
“Shall the Town’s acceptance of Chapter 31 of the General Laws (Civil Service law) in 1957 be revoked for all officers below the rank of Chief within the Police Department?”
